What this site is
Greatproductreview.com publishes product comparisons and buying guides for consumer products. Each page picks one narrow question — which cooling bed sheets actually sleep cool, say — sets out the criteria we judged against, and ranks the options with the trade-offs stated rather than smoothed over.
The test we hold ourselves to is simple: would this page still be useful to you if every outbound link were removed? If the answer is no, the page is not finished.
Who runs it
The site is operated by Great Product Review.
Comparison pages are written by Mathew Ross. Mathew writes the product comparisons here and is accountable for the claims on them. We do not attach credentials, qualifications or testing histories to our writers that they do not have — where a page needs authority, it comes from showing the working, not from a job title.
How the site is funded
By affiliate commission, and nothing else. When a page carries a paid link and you buy through it, the seller pays us a percentage at no extra cost to you. We do not charge readers, run display advertising, or sell placements.
On most comparison pages only one product carries a paid link and the rest carry none, so there is nothing to earn from where the others rank. The full arrangement — including how commercial relationships do and do not affect our rankings — is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
How we work
- We publish our criteria. Every ranking states what was measured and how it was weighted, on the page itself.
- We do not claim testing we did not do. Our comparisons are built from manufacturers' published specifications and independent testing published elsewhere. We do not currently run our own lab tests, and we do not use the word “tested” where no testing happened.
- We attribute figures. Where a number comes from a manufacturer rather than an independent test, the page says so.
- We leave gaps visible. Where we cannot find a figure we trust, the page says “not stated” instead of guessing.
- Our scores are editorial. They are our judgment against published criteria, not aggregated customer ratings, and we do not dress them up as consumer reviews.
- A person signs off on every page. Nothing publishes without being reviewed, and a person is accountable for every claim on it.
Editorial independence
No merchant gets to approve, review or edit our copy before it is published. We do not accept payment for a particular score, rank or verdict, and we do not remove criticism because a brand asked. If a ranking cannot honestly support the product we would earn from, we do not publish the ranking.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and prices go stale faster than anything else on the site. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will fix it. Where a correction materially changes a recommendation, we note the change on the page rather than editing it silently.
What we are not
We are not a retailer, and nothing can be bought from us. We are not the manufacturer of any product we write about, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official site of any brand mentioned here. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
